Hello all, I know most people will end up saying I should have went for an i5 2500k (and you will most probably be right) but I wanted the 2700k and ordered it yesterday from O.C. using hte £8.00 next day delivery, and the cpu has just arrivied, I am really impressed with the speed of delivery - mainly because living in N.I. im used to being screwed over with postage prices and delivery times (next day delivery generally has a *main land uk only* footnote. As soon as my motherboard arrives I will post up some pictures of my first build and my first attempt at overclocking this cpu (got nowhere with my current phenom 9950, only got it to 2.9GHz lol)

Bought myself the Maximus Extreme iv-z I didnt go for the gen3, main reason I went for this was because I intended an 8core bulldozer with the Crosshair Formula V motherboard, but when I'd didnt yield the results that had been talked about everywhere I jumped ship to an intel system, and I really liked the Crosshair line so switched to the maximus board (only ordering now though because the intel system cost a lot more and needed more savings, thankfully I was able to get some parts for my bday and xmas lol )

Naw didnt go for the gen3 and is it not rampag IVe anyways? (edit - duh there is a maximus gen3 lol), Ive been reading that no gpu makes full use of the 2.0 bandwidth so 3.0 is somewhat of a waste atm, and I dont have the hardware to make full use out of it - in that I have a HD ready TV I game off and not a dual tv setup etc

5UB - no problem, very happy with the service

Dave - I wish, been saving from the summer, and all I had to buy was the cpu and MoBo and Win7, got ram and hdd for my bday from people and likewise the case+cpu cooler for xmas reusing my 5670 and PSU for the time being they should tie me over till finances pick up again lol
 
Yeh my m2n68-vm motherboard atm is micro, wanted a full ATX board this time (ended up with Eatx lol)

As I dont have my MoBo yet I cant really don anything with it but look at the box lol -

Been reading that the "A" batches may only be "eh" as overclockers, any truth to this or just people being away with the fairies lol
