hi there,
currently oc to 4.1 ive noticed 1 of my cores is very high,im using h100 with tim supplied should i reapply with better tim or is this normal.
core temp readings below,

31 c
15 c
17 c
20 c

thanks.

there is usually a difference in core temps but that does seem a bit strange.i would reapply tim mx-4 is great stuff.and make sure it's evenly applied

The temperatures look odd.

At idle the best you can expect from the H100 is to cool a few degrees above the ambient room temperature.

The room must be pretty cold if 15°C is correct.

as you all seem to think the same as me with odd temp on 1 core , in the engineering world it would seem like 1 of 4 bolts is loose ,i will reseat h100 with good tim and get bk with results ,

the temps above were early this morning with back door open so ambient of 15c was probably correct.

thanks all.

update on thread

i have not reapplied tim as yet been overclocking today and stress testing.
going back to my thread ive noticed something strange with temps my hottest idle core is actually the coldest during stress test ,which looking at earlier temps core 0 should be 10c higher than the others !
can anyone spread any light on this.
results of 4.3 oc 1.215 3 hours prime lowest fan settings very quiet
max temps
67c
70c
71c
68c

thanks

Allegedly the lower the temperature, the more inaccurate the digital thermal sensor can be. So when you're putting the chip under stress, the higher readings are more likely to be closer to accurate. 15c off at idle though seems like a massive error, but the fact it levels out to similar as the other cores when stressed says it's probably just a wonky DTS in that particular core. If stress temps were similar to idle temps, your core reading 31c at idle would be reading into the 80s under stress.

thanks im thinking on the same lines as you, as under stress temps should be quite accurate so maybe h100 is ok .would you recommend re applying a top quality tim or leave the h100 pre applied.

Have you tried stressing it with the fan speed on the rad increased? High 60s/Low 70s seems high for an H100, but if the fans are on the lowest setting that might explain why. I also heard that the supplied Corsair fans aren't the greatest as they can be quite noisy at higher RPM.

my fans are all apache blacks in push pull im on lowest speeds as i dislike computer noise im trying to find highest oc with quietest noise.
