No definitely don't OC, but why not pick up a cheap cooler which would allow you to overclock? My cooler is great for the £15 price, I have my 4670k @ 4.0Ghz and the temperatures stay at decent levels.

Ive been able to set the turbo clock to 4.3/4.3/4.2/4.1

went from WEI7 score 7.6 to 7.7. I ran it for a day. It wasn't that hot but if you are looking for a longer term on stock probably 4 Ghz max, but if you want sustained higher then get a cpu cooler...

I wouldn't trust WEI, it's pretty obsolete now, if you have mid-end gear you can get 7.9 on most xD
It's not a particularly good benchmark to compare gear against

i agree. It's a "ball park" figure

I just use it because it can be easy to rate different components quickly...

win 8.1 doesn't have the user interface to assess the WEI, you have to do it via cmd to assess and then look it up in the XML file...

for a gtx 660 a win7 WEI = 7.9, for Win 8.1 = 8.3

hmm maybe i wont then haha it would have been nice to push it up a little bit.
hopefully ill try buy a cooler soon

Ok guys cheers ill leave it 4 now tempting as it is lol. The stock cooler is pretty pants lol. Just on idle its at like 45c. An full load is between 75-85

As someone mentioned you can get a decent cooler for very little money. No reason to spend a fortune and then you can OC to 4Ghz +

I overclock on a stock cooler some times, just stop when the temps get to high, no extra volts and see how far it will go, obviously better cooling will yield better results but depends on what you want to achieve :)

Ivy bridge runs hot when you overvolt it, just put the cpu vcore at 1.070v (stock for ivy bridge) and see how high you can get the multiplier.

You can probably get up to 4ghz on stock volt on ivy.

Cheers silent I might try it lool. I'm worried I might blow it up tho at that over clock haha. I am really keen 2 try tho lol

What are the rest of the parts in your pc? i.e motherboard, psu etc.

Personally id just buy a cheap aftermarket air cooler, but I get the impression you dont really know how to overclock, if thats the case let me know I can help you with it.
