To use the integrated GPU you need to connect the display to the mobo video output (AFAIK).

Yes, but the video output will be driven from the discrete GPU, not the iGPU in 4770K. The only way for you to "use" the iGPU is to connect your monitor to the video output(s) of your motherboard.

don't forget you may need to enable the onboard gpu in the bios, especially if you have a discrete gpu also installed.

As soon as you connect it to the discrete GPU it bypasses the iGPU
