Hello

just a quick one what are decent idle temps for the i76950X?

my PC is idle at the moment and my temp on my CPU is 52.4c
is that acceptable?
Should I create a new fan curve?

Thank you

What cooler do you have. More details are needed to help you out.

But anyway it is a little high for idle but if your fans are really slow then it will be like that.

hey
I have a: Corsair H100i V2 Hydro Cooler

Is this custom fan curve acceptable? RPMs for Fan and Pump okay too?

that temp shown in the picture was taken as I am writing this post.

Thank you

How long has your cooler been fitted? Are these temp increases a recent thing?

52c is pretty hot for idle. Most CPU's idle way lower than that, even the high end ones. I would probably check the block is making good contact with the CPU.

Cooler and PSU were fitted together back in July 2016. No sudden movement either to cause any dislodge of any contact between the two. At the moment it's idle at 46c

What he's says is were the temps ok before. The pump might of died. I would re-apply some TIM if it's that old.

If all else fails swap your CPU with mine .i have e a 5960x that runs really cool :D

okay I began to render a video in 4K to see temps
In corsair LINK (image below) it says package temp 80c

at the SAME time in iCUE (corsair monitoring program) which monitors pumps and air for Corsair products, it says 51.2C

am I right in thinking:
package 80c is the overall CPU temperature (first picture)

and

51.2c in the liquid temperature in the AIO? (second picture)

Sorry if this seems "noobish"
Thank you

I run my 6950x at 4.4ghz @ 1.275v . At idle i get temps around 30 degrees and max out at 72 degrees whilst stress testing.

Personally i think an h100i isn't really up to the job of cooling a 6950x especially if you plan to overclock and put the cpu to task.

The 6950x is a niche product and needs a custom water cooling solution or a very high end CLC.

What is the room ambient like? Maybe turn off the radiator in the room with the 6950x in it. :D

Correction , i guessed my idle temps , after an hour of running my idle temps are 24 degrees (package) and varying from 23-24 on the cores with an ambient temp of around 23 degrees.

I am idling around 25 Deg C, this is under water with custom watercooling, this does seem pretty high.
I do have 1.3v going through mine as well.
I also got a 1080ti in same loop.

hey guys thanks for info... for some reason the fans just calmed down and fell back into place (where they were before) - which confused me a bit but please can somebody help me clear something up

in these two images (both taken at the same time) each image has a temperature on show

Image one is Corsair Link - arrow points to the package temp; first thing - is the package temp the overall CPU temp in average?

f3gcja.jpg

Image two is iCUE (another corsair program) - the arrow is pointing to another temp. which is very different to image one temps

Is image one temp overall CPU temp?
and
Is image two the liquid/coolant temp within the AIO?

if anybody can shed any light on to his please feel free
Thank you

Best think to do it download some proper programs that i mentioned before and replace your nearly 3 year old TIM. Then if the problem continues ask for some advice.

Doesn't Corsair Icue show the temperature of the fluid/H20 in the AIO ?

Anyhow I run my [email protected] and voltage (1.3v) is set at auto and speed step etc is enabled. The CPU idles around 25°c with my Phanteks PH-TC14PE air cooler. Load running AIDA64 FPU stress test it maxes out at around 83°c.
I measure the temperatures with HWinfo64 and HWmonitor.
