hi all,

so ok i have my new groovy system and i would like to overclock my cpu from 2.8Ghz to around the 3.4Ghz mark...

I know in the bios i have CPU level up but ive done that and well im not sure its worked...

why u ask?

well because it increased it to 3.4Ghz all well and good and on the post it says...

Processor: Intel i7 860 2.8Ghz
Speed: 3.4Ghz

So that looks ok until i go into windows control panel and click system and it simply states...

Intel i7 860 2.8Ghz @ 2.8Ghz...

your comments please :D

whoops i forgot to ask is there any decent software i can use to do my overclocking? or is it best to stick to the bios on my board ?

thanks again

go on ur BIOS and go to CPU LEVEL UP.... then simply change the cpu to whatever u want... i think the option are like... 2.8 3.0 and 3.4 ghz. i simply went for 3.4ghz my machine is water cooled aswel.

message me if u have any probs

thanks for reading

What settings are they for rick?

these are for the same setup as mine maximus 3 and i7 860 chip,i have not yet tried them but found them on the net and seems fairly good one from what i read you will have to adjust the volts to your cpu but should be a good start, thanks for the heads up on the LLC will try that as well.;)
