My i7 860 has been OC'd to 3.7GHz for over a year now with no hiccups, but now I'm wondering about the temperatures. Is it normal for the temps to creep up over the year? I idle at about 40 and load 78c (about 69-75 for the cores) under Prime 95. I can hear the fan speed increasing every few minutes.
Is there a way I can set a more aggressive fan profile for my CPU?
Should I invest in a proper CPU cooler (I have a Hyper 212+ which cost about £18 at the moment)?
I will probably upgrade to Haswell so should I not worry about it?
