i7-8700 preformance

I was thinking a i7-8700 would preform as well as a stock i7-8700k if I enabled MCE(multi-core enhancement) allowing all cores to run at or close to the max boost 4.6 ghz. I would use a 212 cooler and may not get all cores to stay at 4.6 but pretty close. Is there any flaws with this thinking?

MCE does not work with non k chips. You will get whatever the all core boost is on that chip.

The 212 isn't a great cooler either - it got a good name as it was good for the price, not actually a top cooler. Except then they increased the price. Not worth it now.

212 isnt bad imo
