i7 8700k 100% Load 80C on Google Chrome! WTF ?

Can anyone explain what is going on here ? Google Chrome keeps Crashing my PC and its killing my CPU!


How is a web app pushing my CPU on all cores to a max of 100% is crazy.


Anyone else had this ? How do i fix it.



Note : The CPU doesn't even go over 65C on ultra gaming!

Have you tried uninstalling chrome and downloading a new copy?
There might be something up with your version.

There were reports of some websites running bitcoin miners, could be something like that?

I’ll uninstall it tonight & see if that solves the problem With a fresh install... the cpu runs at 10% on Bing just a little different

Open resource monitor and order list by cpu usage make sure its chrome
Could be a miner or something as other have said. Check the extensions you've got installed in chrome also

I was browsing some questionable website the other night and saw a sharp increase in cpu usage, it's gone only when I close that website.

Questionable websites these days like to run a coin miner whilst your on their sites causing cpu usage to raise if your not on a big core cpu to not notice the hit.
