Okay, I have from OCUk as of last week a nice new computer:

i7 920 - D0 stepping
x58A UD3r mobo with latest bios
OCZ Gold 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9

Noctua dual fan / radiator fan
coolermaster 690 2 case

Good air cooling in system - 26 degrees for CPU on idle
750W Antec PSu
5850 GFX

----

I would like tips on getting this to 4GHZ.

I've just tried and got PCI error message, so just like to know recomended settings. Obviously, I don't want to lose memory speed and I do get confused when you o/c the CPU but changes the memory settings.

Any help would be grateful, thanks.

I've pretty much set voltage to auto and changed various things to get the OC to 4GHZ.

I have just ran Orthos for 40 minutes with no errors. 4 programs and running 2 cores each - max temp 59 degrees. I will run for longer tomorrow night.

My voltage is around 1.3 volts.

Is that okay, so far?

memory looks like it's running at stock speed.

I'm using the i7 920 and ud3r and would not recommend using the auto voltage settings as it tends to pump it quite high (the CPU especially). If you have everything set on auto i'm guessing your RAM timings are also very loose so you may want to look into tightening them up a bit.

Try setting the voltage for the cpu to 1.28V (ish) and then lower it down from there until it becomes unstable. Also try changing the ram settings from the auto to CAS 10 settings, then CAS 9 then maybe even CAS8. I'm using the auto setting for the ram voltage on mine as it is only giving them 1.58V at the moment but i may try reducing that over the next few days.

Just keep trying them both but do them at different times i.e sort the cpu voltage then do the ram so you don't crash the system then end up wondering which was the problematic part.
