Thinking of swapping out my 920 to a 960, do you think it's worth it?
I'm already over clocking my 920 to a stable 3.8 on water and I was thinking I could do the same with the 960 and get it around 4.2 maybe 4.4 but with I noticed the differents. ?

Can't get a stable 4.0, I even know of 920 going to 4.2 but I'm struggling, just thought I could get around 4.2 with a 960 and there be less of an issues with heat and voltage

I have a 920 at 4.2ghz. I cant realy notice any difference between 4ghz and 4.2ghz. depending on what you do you'd be better off with a graphics card or ram etc, as real world difference for me is marginal at best.

If you can't get 4GHz stable with a 920, then I'd be looking to change the motherboard or reset everything back to zero and start all over with the overclock.

Not worth the sidegrade tbh, as it's just another bloomfield with a higher stock clock. What settings have you been trying at 4ghz?

I have two i7 920 D0. Both of them running fine at 4.0GHz using the Corsair H50 coolers. I custom watercooled one of the CPUs and managed to get into Windows at 4.5GHz but then it crashed lol. Have had both running at 4.0GHz for almost 3yrs now. Not bad going I say :)

But like everyone else has said, not worth going to 960 for the sake of 200-400MHz speed difference.
