Hi guys,

Recently decided after 8 months to overclock my I7 920.

After plenty of research found out what I needed to do to clock the cpu and can get it running stable at 3.0ghz on the stock cooler with the ram running at 1200mhz. The cpu voltage is set to 1.25v.

The system runs fine at this but if I want it to go faster to say even 3.2ghz I can get it into windows but then it blue screens.

My questions are 1) At 3.0ghz what temperatures are acceptable in celcius and farenheit using stock cooling ? 2) If I want to clock the chip higher what CPU voltage would be best ? and 3) would the blue screens be caused by the cpu not getting enough voltage or is it overheating ?

Thanks guys.

Steve

Here's a guide -link - to clocking an i7 920 upto 4GHZ on the p6t dlx v2.

You'll have a far better understanding of the process if you study the whole guide and then apply the basic priciples to attain which ever clock you're after.

I would get your 3.2GHz stable and then try for 3.6GHz if you're only after a moderate clock.
