if its i7 do ...you should be able to get a nice stable 3.6ghz overclock @1.56v maybe under...thatll keep core temps nice and low...and to be honest do you realy need 4ghz with higher temps
i have now got 3.8ghz stable but to get 3.8 stable and to hit 4ghz and run ok at start up porformance is set to extreme, turbo or standard and they both crash during start up?
@ min in running 4ghz of which is stable until u use prime95 then it dies?
what sort of voltages do i need to be looking at?
For 4ghz , Id say 1.25 - 1.35 at the very max. In the middle would be ideal. This is CPU voltage only.
The QPI/VVT should be no higher than 1.26v with 6GB memory. No need.
Ram will NEED to be at its required voltage of 1.65/1.66v to be stable at its required settings. Especially when attempting stable @ 4ghz.
right getting some sort of stability, changed dram timmings lowered qpi volt and lowered cpu volt. but crashes after 4 mins, plus note thats longer then 10 seconds!
qpi down from 1.515 to 1.235 and cpu down from 1.4000 to 1.3475
