i7 920 overclocking vs. TURBO mode?

I have a i7 920 with ASUS P6T SE

Which is faster.. Intel's Turbo mode or manual overclocking?

Turbo mode on the 920 only clocks to 2.93ghz if I recall, so the answer depends on how high you manually clock it!

4ghz should be pretty easy. Max safe temp under stress testing load I would say is about 80 c measured with real temp or core temp.

Yep, manual overclocking all the way, with turbo enabled (21x multi) its easier to get a clock stable as opposed to 20x on x58 boards, currently running 21x193 here on an asus p6t deluxe v2.
