i7 920 overclocking

Did you need either ioh or ich or pll increase to hold stability at 4ghz? At 4.4 and having sod all fun with turbo all three of these were still at stock. pll is known to decrease stability when increased in some cases, increasing the other two without need can cause more harm than good.

If you're testing at 210x20 then life is a bit more difficult as you're starting to reach the limits of what your system is expected to do. Drop bsck until you're stable, try decreasing voltages in turn to see which can be lowered to hold stability, then increase bsck by 1 and go hunting for the numbers that have to be marginally increased. Don't just throw vcore at it.

1.2v for ICH and IOH seems kinda high to me, as does 1.88v PLL.

Like Jon has said already, to much pll can do more harm than good, infact, lowering pll below stock can actually help with stability in some cases.

There are several guys on this forum who use 1.3v for pll, myself included, though not all BIOS'es allow you to lower this setting..

i may just go back to 4ghz

I think it all depends on what you use your PC for, if it's just gaming, you won't really see much of a difference going from 4GHz and 4.2GHz, I have dropped my o/c back to 4GHz from 4.2 because I was getting much higher temps at 4.2, and I wasn't seeing any benefits from the extra 200MHz..

theres loads on youtube for the p6t board...use the info you find as a guide then make small tweaks yourself...its easy mate,it aint rocket science as some people would perceive it to be

Most of the advice I've seen for my board suggest 1.24v minimum for bclk at 200 and my OC supports this. I've never bothered increasing the pll past stock or messng with clock skew either.

Not tried lowering it? Not sure if I can on my board.
