Hi all, first venture into forums, so apologies if I've put it in the wrong place etc.

I have just built the following,

i7 920
ASUS p6t Deluxe
OCZ Mod X stream 700w PSU
ATI 4870 1gb
triple channel OCZ gold series 3x1gb RAM

Problem is it wont post. PC fires up, fans LED etc, but no image or beeps. If I remove the RAM I get 1 short beep. Other than that nothing.

I have taken the board out of the case and tried that.

I have swapped the RAM around, I have bought GSkill 3X2gb ram and tried that (OCZ is 1.65v, Gskill 1.5v, thoughtit might help?) The RAM is in slots 2nd, 4th, 6th, also tried other combinations

I have swapped out the PSU with another, no difference

I have swapped out the GPU with one I know works, no difference

Monitor is a working and still working monitor

I have replaced the motherboard, no difference

I have sent the CPU back to ******, they say it works fine and sent it back to me, no difference.

Getting desperate now, have replaced USB keyboard with a PS2 connection keyboard, no difference.

DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS AS TO WHAT I CAN TRY NEXT?

My only thoughts now is that I have been really unlucky and received either 2 duff motherboards or tow duff PSUs or ****** have lied to me.

Please help, starting to lose sleep :-(

Is looking like a faulty motherboard, someone yesturday has got a Asus board which is not posting (bought from a auction site).

Just to confirm you have installed all power connectors including the 4 or 8 pin for a CPU power & the done the old trusty CMOS reset :)

thanks for the reply. I have done the CMOS reset, jumpers and removed battery. I would be disappointed if it was the motherboard as it's my second :( taking bits back one at a time to diagnose the fault is taking ages.

Well, Motherboard, and everything else come to that, has gone back. After some testing it appears that apparently the problem is BIOS needed to be flashed.

We'll have to wait and see if that fixes the problem.

Yeah I had to usb flash my P6T when I got it.
Also had to remove and shuffle ram about before it would recognise all 6Gb.
Wish they'd do a soak test before these things leave the factory!
