i7 920 worth upgrading?

Hi guys i have a i7 920,X rebirth is coming out in november and i was just wondering if it is worth upgrading the specs for the game are

Recommended:
OS: Windows 7 SP1 (64-bit)
Processor: Intel i5 (Quad) or i7 at 2.5GHz or AMD equivalent
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVidia GT500 series with 1GB RAM or better, ATI 5870HD with 1GB RAM or better
DirectX: Version 9.0c
Hard Drive: 10 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c Compatible Sound Card
Additional Notes: These specs are still being determined.

And my specs are

Gigabite-x58-ud3r
i7 920
6 gig dd3 ram 1600mhz
HD 6950
Coolermaster 850Watt PSU
1 tb hitachi HDD
29" HANNS.G monitor
Win 7 64 bit

Should i upgrade and if so,could you guys suggest a bundle.Thanks all
 
Is your processor overclocked. Most D0 920's will do 4GHz withouy much trouble and reasonable cooling.

If not overclocked that'd be my first suggestion and then consider a gpu upgrade.

What resolution is your monitor? budget?

The i7 920 is still a very capable processor especially with regards to gaming when overclocked.
 
Yea i have it overclocked to 3.8 and i have a upgraded cooler from stock.My monitor res is 1920x1200.my budget isnt very high atm 300 pounds.i was thinking of changing my gpu(for me never ati again)but i am unsure what to go for.would a gtx 670 be much better than my current hd 6950?also would it be worth upgrading to 12 gigs of ram?Any advise would be great mate.Thanks again;)
 
For games, a new gpu will be more of a performance increase. With a single 670, i notice no difference in games with the cpu in sig over the i7 930 @4ghz in my second machine.
