i7 920

I'm still soldiering on with an i7 920 at 4GHz and still don't see a reason to change it, apart from the lack of SATA III on the mobo I'm using.

However I'd agree that no overclock = upgrade time.

Still rocking my i7 920 on speedstep with no overclock :)

Will be keeping this for another year yet.

With a corsair 500r and corsair ax 850.

I have a core i7 920 CPU and at stock clocks and I had revert back to default clocks as my temps were hitting over 90 degrees doing only a mild overclock (3.2Ghz). I think my heatsink/fan is starting to fail on me!

i wouldnt bother unless you use your cpu for encoding or other cpu intensive tasks. unless your allready running a 780 or 7970 ghz id get a new gfx card instead, youll likely see a bigger increase on the vast majority of games, or if you havent overclocked your cpu yet, do it 3.4 ghz is easy even on co chips and average coolers! if you dont have an ssd yet then thats a vey good upgrade for general use and load times
