Right guys i have it running at 4Ghz @ 200bck with 1.26v CPU, 1.35v Qpi, 1.65v Ram.
Memory is running 1600mhz with 9.9.9.24 and everything else on auto.

Now i have been running Prime 95 Torture test for hours on small fft's with no errors, even if i switch to blend it will go for hours even while im browsing in the background.

Temps never go above 77c with my VX.

Thing is when i run OCCT it fails within the 1st 2mins... now when i run the memory part on OCCT it will pass no problems on 20 passes, and OCCT linx just keeps plodding on...

What should i do or what would you suggest ?

Try playing a game see if stable, if yes use the pc as normal for week if still stable leave it!
It's one thing doing a stabilty test but trying to run every benchmark going is a waste of time and your killing your cpu for no reason.

If your prime stable, linx stable, game/normal stable enjoy it

Agreed, sounds perfect to leave it as it is! If it's stable for what you use it for then there's no point nit-picking at it :P

I guess you are running 20x200 to get that 4GHz, try 21 x 191 to get a shade over 4.0Ghz. OK meme drops very slightly ( maybe evene more stable) but i think I7930 like 920 prefer odd multipliers

bad idea, higher FSB = faster

@OP leave it as it is, otherwise you're going to increase your cpu's power usage to the point where a GTX 480 with a mild overclock uses less power

plus you won't get that much performance gain out of it

The higher speed with the increased FSB is not that noticable, it is stability he is after and the x19 has been said by many on the forum to be more stable than a x20

Lol if his clock is stable with x20, then why change it.

And in all honesty iv not had one single issue using x20 for my clock either. Also means using the 200 bclk if i wanted a quick boost, change to x21 for 4.2ghz.

People just assume x19 is more stable, iv never had an issue yet with x20, but then again i did spend the time clocking it right, where as some just don't bother.

But is in linX, prime, game and so on.

In all honesty thats stable to me, if u are stable doing what u do on a day to day basis, then its stable.

And stress testing software is'nt all that. By that i mean my clock before i tweaked it was prime stable for 24+ hours, linX/IBT multi run stable.

But as soon as i started folding, i would get the odd BSOD, so i tweaked abit more, so take stress testing software with a pinch of salt.

agreed that stress testing is not real world usage but the fact is that if an overclock is not stable under a certain stress test then ..we.. it is not a stable overclock. How often this instability shows up and how much of an issue it is is down to the rig and owners usage..but i wouldn't run a dialisis machine on it

All depends on which OCCT test really, may just need a few more notches on vcore, also he never mentioned if he is using LLC, as that can make a big diff when u use it, to how stable a clock is, as less droop.

His other volts are fine, could probably get away with 1.3v on qpi, but thats just me being picky lol.

yes i am using llc guys, i think i tried lowering my qpi but i got bsods.

when i turn on xmp profile in the bios how come it puts my qpi on 1.4v ??

i thought max was 1.35v ?

Hi all ,
I am new to this forum , I have the I7930 2.8 running at 3.5 and would like to get it up to 3.8 or 4ghz . I have the PT6SE mother board DD3 at 1600 with the noctua NH-U12P air cooler on a 1500w power supp what would be the bset setup on the numbers .
ie Bclk cpu.v qpiv and ram.v and be safe to run games . all help would be welcome .
thanks
