Hi guys.

these are my temps im not too sure if these are ok i know i7s run hot but should they be running this hot?

Idle temp:

Load temp with prime 95 running:

also im using the titan fenrir cpu cooler. hence why im asking if the temps should be this high under load. Idle temps seem to be pretty good. My room is pretty hot but idlein it usally hits around 30c and below. maybe i didnt apply the thermal paste correctly? as how i applyed the thermal was a blob in the middle of the cpu and to let the heatsink spread it out. System was only put together last night too so maybe theres a settle in peroid for the temps to go down even further?

Cheers

Karl

Stock temps look fine.
however ock look abit high to me as ock only 3150mhz and using prime.
Suggest you do 20 runs with linX using max memory available and see what your temps are like.

Seems a little high but a better cooler is the solution unfortunatly :<

Try OCing it a little higher and post back results but if you arent going to OC then thats fine.

Its already oc'ed to 3.2ghz lol:P
At 3.2ghz, the load temps do look a bit on the high side, compared to my own i7 920 using a vcore of 1.2750 for 4ghz, my highest temp with IBT/LinX is 76c, im not sure wether an i7 930 needs more voltage than a 920, but what vcore voltage are you using?

Well maybe i shouldnt have done this but. I asked a friend via xfire if its ok to detatch the Titan fenrir (as it was only built yesterday) Then Move it to the correct place He said it should be ok if the paste is still gooey Which he was sure it would be if it was only built yesterday so i went ahead and detached it moved it around and put it back int he correct place. was careful when removing the fenrir not to get thermal paste everywhere then i stuck it in the correct place. Watching temps now and it all seems ok. Hasnt gotten hot so far its staying below 35c idleing that is.

Hopefully i havnt made a grave mistake in doing what i just done>_< I did go into the bios and set the fan for the fenrir to a higher rpm.

I'd say reapply thermal paste since you've broken the seal and possibly caused airpockets. You may or may not see better temps, but if it were me, I'd take the time to clean it all off and start again, it might be worthwhile.

Those temps look good to me - I wish i could get the same, my 930 is currently clocked at 3.8 and 1.26V and it idles at 40-47 and hits 78-80 after 20 mins of prime....

Same cooler (fenrir titan) - I've reseated it 3 times now, this time i tinted it first and moved the heatsink fan so it is blowing air over the cooler (my case has 2 outtake fans one above the cooler and one to the back, to be honest it seems moving the fan has made the most difference, before doing that i was at 50 idle and hitting 90-92 on prime95... eek

If i have indeed caused air pockets Could this cause me trouble? And i agree that Reapplying the paste may be a good idea. Only problem is i could only do that on monday afternoon. So hopefully it will be ok to run till monday then ill get some cleaner from pc world if they stock any>_< I have got some of that paste that came with the titan fenrir not sure how good it is As i used artec cooling.... Im guessing air pockets could cause the cpu to run more hot than normal

Meny thanks
