i7-950 cooler?

Picked one of these up uber cheap along with an Asus Rampage 3.

Anyway, always been a fan of the retail cooler and whilst it seems to do a sterling job at defaults, it is woefully underspec'd for any overclocking it seems!

Been looking at the Cooler Master Hyper 612S... thoughts?

Ultimately, I'd like the absolute best but absolute quietest cooler? Anything else I should be looking at?

Thermalright Silver Arrow. It's the quietest of the top end dual tower coolers.

The 612S is good but not the absolute best.

Hadn't considered it tbh. Is it fairly hassle free these days? My prommy back in the day was not!

Silver Arrow SB-E Extreme has TY-143 fans... 700-2500rpm... and will out perform H100 at full speed... but are no louder than TY-141/150 on standard SA SB-E at same 1100-1300rpm and slower. I'm running a couple of the TY-143s on my Phanteks now. Have ran stock fans and TY-140s too and the Phanteks are little louder than the Thermalrights

its fairly hassle free, but well. there can always be complications. worth it in the end
