i7 950 overclock help

Hi,

Just got myself an i7 and asus P6X58D-E.

Got a couple questions.

I'd like to have it running 4ghz constantly, cuz it's a nice number, what voltage/temps should I expect? I'm using an antec 300 case and titan fenrir evo cooler.

Also, what is the importance of XMP on memory, Using some patriot viper atm, a little confused by this option in bios.
