i managed to build my own gaming rig and the specs are:-

My System Information
CPU: Intel Core i7 950 3GHz stock
Cooler:- Coolermaster v8
Board: ASUS P6t6 Revolution
Mem: 6GB Triple Channel DDR3 Corsair XMS3 1600MHz 8-8-8-24
GPU: Nvidia 3 X XFX GTX 260 Core 216 3 WAY SLI 715/1270/1431 (Core/Memory/Shader)
HDD: 640GB S-ATA Seagate Baracuda 32 Mb Cache 7200 Rpm
Sound: SoundMAX Full HD 7.1 Channel
OS: Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 x64 *Activated*

PSU: Corsair TX-850 Watts

i have serous problems with CPU heating issues even nothing is been overclocked except GPUZ..CPU is @ stock settings...

temp.jpg

Idle cpu temps are 41 39 42 36 according to core temp and in 100% load temps were 61 61 61 57.... also checked the temps while running prim95 small TFTs still load temps are the same...please help

How much thermal paste did you use?

The CM V8 is not a heat-pipe direct touch so minimal paste (rice grain) size is around what you want, some chips need more, some less, depends on how flat the IHS of the CPU is and how flat the base of the Heatsink is.

An i7 at 60degrees under full load with a midrange cooler.
I don't see anything wrong with that.

What case do you have, and whats the airflow like with 3 GFX cards running in overclocked configuration?

coolermaster v8 is not mid range, but more like low high range.

how is 3.07 impressive? If he really wanted to show off should have at least went higher than 4.2

very nice build also. btw

with a 950...you want to overclock it to over 4GHz and then you can tell us the temps...leaving it at stock speed isn't impressive...as someone said, you just wanted to show off that you have a 950...anyone say e-peen? :D

60C is not hot for an i7 as the OP well knows.

Run it at 4Ghz+ HT on running small FFT's.
With that heatsink temps will be nudging 100C

In my experience engineering sample chips (ES) usually do run a little hotter and wors still, can be less stable than a genuine retail chip.

i think i shall change this v8 cooler to Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme 1366 - Retail

I would get this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-000-PL&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=

and get this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-002-PL&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=

and get this two fans (for push-pull) of these:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-004-NC&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=4

and the temperature will be below 75C for 4.2GHz at 1.300 vcore and 1.640 dram setting with HT enabled and Intel Turbo Boost enabled.

My temperature never go over 75C after 6 hours full load with prime 95 and 2 hours with linx full load.

Here is my snapshot of my full load after 6 hours:
