i7 990 is out! Some benchmarks!

Wonder how much :D probably going to be something ridiculas like £800 or £900. Wouldn't mind seeing those temps though at 7GHz on air :P Couldn't be long term I'm guessing.
 
7Ghz!!

Now here is the chip that will beat i7 2600k hands down in benchmarks. However vcore 1.9v on 32nm lol:p. But it is a beast. I must say that they should have labelled it as i7 1000x!!:D


shouldn't it have 12 threads? cpu-z seems to show only 6 threads ?

They turned the HT off to get the benchmark result?

Only single channel memory as well!

Bit of a daft comment really, not exactly competing in the same price brackets is it. I would expect a chip costing 3 times as much to be better, is it 3 times faster though?

I was only making a passing reference to the would-be comparison without taking into account pricing:rolleyes:.
 
Fair enough. Seems a crazy price though unless you need absolutly the fastest cpu out there its just not worth the extra over the 2600k or indeed the 2500k.

7Ghz is impressive though, wonder if we will see 10Ghz with the next gen stuff.
