Ok, guys
I'm sorta helping my stepfather build his new gaming pc ( by helping i mean ripping the mick out of him)
Well he bought the overclocked i7 bundle 2.66ghz to 3.20 ghz from overclockers. When booted we found it was actually clocked at 3.4 ghz :D
which we have to thank who ever did the overclocking for that.

We fitted the humungous cpu cooling unit and fitted it in the antec 900 case.

Any way weve got the i7 setup, but due to the bored setup and where the psu is it is very untidy see pictures below:

(btw the his hd 2600 turbo is just a spare graphics card we had to use to install all the crap till he can save up for a decent graphics card.)

another view of the inside and you can clearly see the issue with both the motherboard power cable and 12volt ancillary cable (which was a pain in the arse to fit, but some kniting needles and a lot of swearing later we manage to fit it)

Any way enoth random picture, has anybody got a antec 900 and how did you solve the wiring issue?

and heres some random cluttered desk shots. and a bit of the arcade machine.

Oh, btw 3dmark dx10 version results, gpu 1002 :D cpu 20654,
so i think i can tell where the system is bottle necking but cant tell :D

Also where looking at grahics cards in the way of future proofing the macine for about a year, so where looking at either the gtx 275 or ati 4890. anyone got any ideas?

Check your fans on the heatsink - methinks they are the wrong way around?

Check the plastic surround by where the cable goes in - you should see two arrows, one indicating direction of spin and the other showing which way the air flows through the fan, and unless the one I'm sitting here looking at is wrong then you have your fans set to pull air from the rear of the case towards the front, rather than exhausting out the rear.

This is my Antec 900, not perfect, but I couldn't get the wires looking any better

Had to route the 24 pin power cable round the pre cut holes, and I put the 8 pin CPU cable behind the graphics card, I have found the 900 is poor for cable management :(

Took me a good 2 hours to make it look like this.

I also use cable ties in the corners where the HDD cages are/

I ve been having this arguement for the past couple of day's, the thing has been through a couple of bench marks and not heated up much at all, tbh.
But i will tell him again.

Yours still looks a lot better than our attepts, well pass on the need for moor cable ties.

Hmm, if the case rear fan is an exhaust then it only makes sense to have a 'wind tunnel' effect with all the fans working together rather than creating an area of turbulence at the exhaust. It's his rig, but hey if it was my i7 goodies I'd change it!
