hi,
just put together a new pc:
i7 920
asus p6t deluxe board
6gb ddr3
2 x 74gig raptors
dvdr
and the usual other bits n bobs
switched on and all seems fine, set in the bios the sata drives to raid which for some reason made them disappear from view in the first bios information screen. then created a raid 0 array in the intel menu after the bios screen, all seems fine and says its bootable etc.
went back into the bios and selected the boot order with my pioneer dvd-r as the 1st boot (you strangely cant see this anywhere else in the bios) and then tried to install windows.
everything posts fine, the raid menu comes up and shows my 2 drives as healthy and bootable
it then goes past the marvel related stuff and shows my dvd drive in there as PATA then when it goes to the bit where you would normally press any key to intall windows I get this message:
"reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press any key"
the dvd drives spins and you can hear it trying to access the disk but doesnt seem to recognise it for some reason. tried my old 32bit xp and 64bit vista.
im a bit stumped, i dont really know much about the i7 stuff so im guessing ive probably done something really stupid
can anyone please help?
many thanks,
Ash
