I7 CPU cooler

The Noctua or the Thermalright Ultra (TRUE) or this but you will need to buy the fan clips as well.

At the moment I use the TRUE with the cpu at 4ghz, gives a full load of 75-80c max.

I suspect H50 vs lapped true would be a different story as well, I'm yet to see a lapped true compared to anything else in reviews though

The H50 is far better than True, Noctua and Prolimatech by the price and great overclock up to 4.0Ghz at below 78C !!!

i never thought i would see the day i reccomended a kit form watercooling solution

but i have to agree
its easier to install than most coolers - quieter and provides great cooling up to 4ghz

I think..in fact i know that wishfull thinking...my true is un modded 4.2ghz on an i7 max temp 75c not seen a h50 do that yet? Not saying its better just saying your stament is a bit unfair

same temps with the h50 using mx2 on a test rig today

not bad imo

I've always seen a 240 radiator recommended as the absolute minimum for an i7, so am confused as to how this one, with a single 120 radiator, is doing well. I'm currently concluding that you don't need a 240 for an i7 after all

i got 1 yesterday from a competitor as OC.uk had none when i was looking and can confirm its a great cooler i gotta get another fan and get it in PnP setup.
my e8400 is only modestly clocked 3.6 ,as my last fan was crap.....but im sure i can crank that up now (once i get another fan ofc).
setup and install was fast and pain free and i liked the fact i can place the res outta the way unlike a normal hsf.
well worth my £55

I think that was for C0, DO run at a substantially lower voltage, hence they run substantially cooler.

[Edit]I have to be honest though, I really don't see why this system (low throughput pump, small volume of liquid, 120mm x 20mm radiator core, closed & sealed loop) is suddenly working when it didn't work for Coolermaster, Swiftech or Alphacool, all of whom charged substantially more and all of whom arguably used better quality components.[/Edit]

I have a coolermaster v8 and have been running at 4ghz on a C0 for quite some time now. It's not only cheaper, but much more quieter and still does the job. My 2 cents worth.

Is it the best air cooler? No, but it still holds it's own.
