Looking to get an i7 setup but was unsure of what mobo to go for. Had been looking at the EVGA X58 SLI but stock seems to be a problem at the moment.

Which motherboards would people recommend (and why)?

[Will be overclocking (not extreme) and uses include gaming, video editing, day-to-day office work]

Had been looking at the Foxconn Blood Rage GTi Intel X58 board, what are peoples thoughts on that and does it support SLI or just XFire?

Budget is upto £160 but may stretch a bit further for good reason to?

Thanks for your help!

With that budget I personally would go for the Gigabyte UD3 - link.

It's great value and a quality board with proven clocking credentials and has SLi support with latest BIOS.

I've heard that the PCI slots are very close together and gets very hot when running two gfx cards with the Gigabyte UD3 tho.

I could stretch to the Asus Ramage II Gene (£169.99) but am unsure of what i'd gain from doing so over the likes of the Gigabyte UD3 or Asus P6T SE?

I know the above two are proven boards for overclocking and to be honest am looking for the easiest to overclock as having never done one before!

I'm not aware of the heat issue with the UD3 when running SLi but looking at pics of the Asus Rampage II Gene the PCI-e slots look just as close as the UD3.

All 3 are good boards and capable of getting you decent clocks - but user preference and forum banter would still steer me towards the UD3.
