I have just setup my first i7 machine.
I am running an app which is using 12% of the CPU as rated in Windows 7 64bit Enterprise Task Manager.
Am I right in thinking this is because the app is only using one thread of a possible 8?
Previous I assumed that if an app has not been built to support multi core then with a quad core I would hopefully see 25%ish of the CPU being used when running an analysis app for instance...?
I am not sure how the multithreading works with i7...
