Im just about to get all the bits for my I7 build
just need the cpu now

Ive got a EVGA x58 sli
OCZ solid series ssds
4890 soon to be two

and ive got the noctura from my 775 build

firstly will it fit on the mobo once i get the mounting bracket?
secondly will it one fan cool it enough for OC'ing? ( i dout that)
if i need more cooling do i change it for somethinge else (if so what) and what fans should i get i want quiet and powerful really, dont want to pay £17 for a fan really

what do you recomend

Looking good, what ram? OCZ solid series are awesome.

OcUK lists the Noctua NH-U12P for both 775 and 1366, is that your cooler? If so, getting the bracket from somewhere should work fine. Push-pull was good for a couple of degrees at most with my TRUE, so I think one fan will do you fine.

How high are you hoping to overclock it, and what's the airflow your case like? I guess I don't need to say that quiet and powerful don't really go together with fans, so asking for it cheaply is asking a lot

Ive got that noctua cooler i was just wondering if it would fit round the large nb cooler

ive got the ram in sig ocz gold

the case is pretty ok 2x120's on the front one on the side one on the rear and 2x140s on the top

the reason i asl about the push pull is that when you buy the noctura as a 1366 socket it comes with two fans

i plan to clock it as high as i can with safe temps my case wont really allow me to have a wc loop so cant have that option so really i want roughly the best cooler i can get

atm i think the cpu fan is the noisest part of the computer bar the stupid fan on the 4890! im not too fussed if it get much noiser really i just dont want anything redic like the deltas are i think.

read some of the noctua threads on here. One links to a test of the noctua with 1 and 2 fans on an o/c i7 (think it was on here). As posted 2nd fan only gave an extra couple of degrees.

The new akasa fans at overclockers are getting some good reviews for the money.
