Slightly OT but the reason you're not seeing it go over 12% is because it's only using one thread, so the 4 virtual HyperThreaded CPUs are doing nothing and 3 of your physical cores aren't even being touched. You may be seeing activity on multiple graphs, but it's not really making good use of your CPU. You might want to see if there's a newer multithtreaded version or a way of enabling multithreading.
I'm just pointing out my experience coming from a chip a few generations old(AMD xp3000) to a i7 chip. The AMD couldnt load one instrument of a certain softsampler without overloading cpu, the i7 can load multi instrument stacks with low cpu percentage, so i was just pointing out, i was a pig in s***! with the performance of the i7 920 so far

Yep most of the sequencers are way behind in using multicore chips. I have had to turn hyperthreading off to use Nuendo and cubase, as it has caused cpu spikes. Thats what the software developer Steinberg recommend. Im not sure if the very latest versions have incorporated multithreading yet. Pro audio stuff is always never straightforward!!
