Hi all,

I'm currently overclocking my i7 930 on a gigabyte ud3r

Now it appears i have a fairly decent chip core - i can hit 4.2GHz (200x21) on 1.22V with 1.84V core pll.

However it appears the uncore/IMC is not so good as i am currently having to run the QPI vtt at 1.42V to get the 200bclk stable.

Given the core of the chip seems good i was hoping to try an push it a bit further. I realise my mobo may limit how far i can push the bclk. Temps are ~60 under IBT so i have head room there too.

Any tips for reducing the QPI VTT requirement? would adjusting the QPI PLL help?
What is the highest voltage people would feel happy running 24/7 full load on the QPI VTT? I have read mixed values ranging from 1.4 to 1.5 for bloomfiled CPUs

Also do people use the turbo multiplier (x22 in my case) for 24/7 overclocks? i am currently using x21.

TIA

iMC is all about the CPU and not about the motherboard as you obviously know. So really it is about what voltages your CPU is happy at, and what voltages you are happy with 24/7.

Have you dropped your un-core, that will certainly help things. As long as it is twice your ram frequency it is good.
