Hi all,
I have a general question about my i7 2600K, I am getting my system shipped to me on Saturday, and asked to have the CPU overclocked to 4.2ghz.
In reality this will be 4.0 - 4.2ghz as per the guys who are building my PC
The reason I went for such a low overclock is basically I don't want to shorten the life of the CPU too much, I think if I start low then I can always increase later. The problem is, I really haven't a clue what I am doing when it comes to overclocking!
Anyway, in your experience, would an OC of 4.2ghz be a bit on the low side? The voltage has not gone up, and I am using a H80 to cool, in a Haf x case.
I want to use the PC for fairly intense gaming, photoshop & lightroom etc.
I know this is a very difficult thing to answer, but i suppose what I am getting at is, the components I bought, are they a bit OTT for a 4.2ghz overclock?
Thanks for any advice anyone can give me on this.
