I have just build a new i7 rig and am realy pleased with it. Looking to start overclocking it but am a bit confused (or maybe nervous!) about where to start. This would be my first oc.
I have read throught the guides here and on other sites and they seem to offer contary advice on best way to start (to me)
Dont want to push things and am not trying to hit 4GHz necessarily, stability is more important.
Kit:
Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz
Gigabyte EX58-UD3R Mobo
Noctua NH-U12P-E Cooler
1GB SAPP HD4870 VAPOUR-X
Corsair 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 1600
I am thinking that I start upping the reference clock from stock (I think its on 133Mhz) but this then will also change my memory frequencies so may need to adjust these down... then there is the CPU Voltage core to consider which may need to be upped
Have I got his about right, whats a good way to start and what can i reasonably expect with this setup?
