I've been looking through the BIOS at my overclock settings and noticed "Performance Enhance" is set to "Turbo" with the other available settings being either "Standard" or "Extreme". What does "Performance Enhance" actually do and what are the benefits of having it / setting it to standard?

Not sure if it's board specific but I'm using the Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5.

As usual, any input is appreciated! :)

Performance Enhance use tighter memory timmings, no much difference in performance and Turbo is fine, sometimes if you have some instability changing to standard can help. You can try Extreme and check your stability

run standard and decrease your voltage down by 2 increments at a time... every chip is different... keep going low untill you hit unstability (fail in prime or intel burn test etc or if you get a BSOD or it simply dont boot) and then go up one and test to see stability highly possiable it will run lower voltage but some chips can be fussy and throw a fit even if you lower core volts by a little..

[edit] im as low as 1.5000 volts stable im gonna lower it more but need to ask the gods of overclocking if its safe to take ur CPU to very low core volts before continuing...
