are the i7s designed to run a lot hotter than the 775 quads just i see ppl saying they are running there i7s at about 80c and all is fine.
Just i know that if 80c was on a 775 quad that is way to hot?
im asking this as im considering buying a i7 this weekend

Yeah they can run at higher temperatures. 80c is fine (the TJ max of i7 is 100c), but it shouldn't be a constant running temperature. That really should be the max temperature you hit while running prime95 or intel burn test.

Mine sits idle at 30-35c overclocked to 4GHz (with speedstep on).
