i7 skylake quad vs 5820k

It is hard to say at the moment because skylake isn't out yet and we can only speculate the performance of it. I would imagine the performance of skylake will be
very close to that of the 5820k and will likely ever be faster in some benchmarks but I don`t think it will completely outperform the 5820k across the board.

The advantage of going the x99 root thought is you have the ability to upgrade to a 8 core at a later date plus Broadwell-E once it is released.

It all boils down to what you use your computer for and if the extra cores of the 5820k will benefit you or not.
