Hey ive been trying to get my i7 to run at 4.0 stable for a while and recently got it there with the setting that allows a x21 multiplier, i just wondered with the info in this picture is it going to loose any life span or get damaged as the temps are high but it wouldnt be running at 100% load ever?? thanks for help im no good with temps and could do with professional help. Thank you for your time and feedback.

Asus Triton Cooler, ran 3d mark 06 and hottest it went was 82. my Chip dosent like 20x200 i can get 3.9 stable though. i may drop back down to that ill try 1.35v but i think it does need 1.4

thats exactly what i was thinking all thats demanding i use it for is new release games otherwise its really basic stuff like word and internet and old 2005 games, o and also some small video encoding that wont take it to 100% right?

id like some more opinions just to be sure

ill try take it down a bit more tomorrow, asus Triton air cooler, hot room and average case ventilation at the moment

edit: what should the life span be i have never used intel processors before and i need this one to last 2-3 years

x21 multiplier is from using turbo boost and speed step but with a fixed voltage so it dosent fluctuate depending on loads on the cpu. some processors like this way more than a 20 multi or a high base clock it seems

my voltage is lower than that and mines locked i think its pretty much any non auto voltage im not 100 % on that though

edit: also like me your temps many be to high to maintain a stable 4.0, 3.9 was almost 30 degrees cooler for some reason
