Hey, can you please check if my voltages are fine for my OC

for 4.0ghz stable i need:
Vcore bios 1.38v, cpuz 1.34v and 1.30v load
QPI/VTT: 1.335v
IOH: Auto
Ram:1.66v

thers a massive jump in vcore for the last 100mhz, over .03v

What temperatures are you hitting with that?

I keep seeing 1.25ish for 4ghz and feeling happy that these chips are thermally limited

for 4ghz, i was hitting 83 on Prime.

for 3.9ghz, i need 1.35v in bios, 1.28v load cpu-z, which hits temp of 80

kinda weird since people with a lot lower vcore hit similar temps

It does seem far too high for a D0, but the vid is 0.8v - 3.75v,
so you've just been unlucky mate and got a chip at the wrong end of the wedge.

Mine takes 1.25v in bios for 4Ghz, 1.287 for 4.2Ghz.

try a lower freq. 191x21 and see if that helps.

QPI link x36
Uncore freq should be twice the ram freq, so 1600mhz ram=3200mhz uncore.

LLC on (for now).
20
191
1.275 vcore.
1.215 qpi.
1.14 IOH.
1.64 Ram.
CPU clock drive change from 700 to 900.
then increase vcore only until you reach either stablity or 1.375. If still unstable increase qpi in increments until 1.335 or until stable and then reduce vcore until you lose stablilty and increase by 2 steps on vcore.

you ram at 1.66v is overvolted, 1.65 is max, but UD5 had 1.64v so use that. My patriot is stable at 8,8,8,24,2t 1528Mhz at 1.5v, xmp off and standard, so with xmp 1.64 is enough. Overvolted ram can damage i7's memory controller.

tinkered with the chip all week and had no luck, decided to sell the chip + board to family member.

got new 920, now clocks to 4ghz with only 1.2vcore load :D
and with temps of 73 max.

One tip which will probably get me in trouble: dont buy OEM as my chip had marks on the surface which at the time did not concern me. Have a suspicious feeling it had been tested by OCUK in their bundles and deemed a poor chip.

As far as I am aware mate, OcUK use retail chips in their bundles..

I wasn't 100% sure mate, I just thought that I remembered someone saying that their chip was a retail one that came with their bundle.

I am probably wrong though!!!

@newbcake, you should have just returned the chip if it had already been used man!

Processors shouldn't have marks on the contact points when they are brand new.
