Has anyone any experience of comparing the two aforementioned CPUs, either directly or indirectly?

I'm curious to hear any reports....

Probably depends on your use case? If it’s gaming I would guess a 13600k is a good shout and uses less power?

My CPU is the i5 13600K. I'm just aware of the recent troubles with Intel CPUs and was considering a potential backup processor.

For the record, my 13600K has worked flawlessly since I got it (in Dec22/Jan23) and my BIOS is up to date.

I wouldn't bother, I expect your CPU is fine, since you'd likely know about it by now if it wasn't and the latest BIOS updates should protect it from degrading.

Better to save your money for a future upgrade.

the 13600k is not involved in that your fine

I'm also running the 13600K at the moment. No issues at all. Easily overclocks too, if need be.

12900k is about £250 second hand, and your thinking about sticking one in a draw just incase...

im going to assume you PC is mission critical, like for work or somthing? if not wait till it brakes/ if it brakes(it wont) and just save you money
