BX8071512900K is retail and comes in a fancy box with three year warranty.

CM8071504549230 is oem and has no retail packaging and a one year warranty. CPUs specs and performance are the same.

Both the retail and OEM have three years warranty.....

Thanks for the info! I'm building a few PC's for friends/family over the next few months, none of whom require fancy boxes, so can finally go for the OEM versions.
 
Can't see the point in buying the boxed version unless you plan to resell it or you want to put it on a shelf to display it.
 
Intel updated tray warranty on 12th gen to 3yr to match retail, this is in the hope more people will buy tray processor to help save the environment.
