Seems like everyone is trying to get their pound of flesh from the consumers now.. Smaller outfits can use the "excuse" we keep hearing but I imagine rainforest gets them way below market value and even they are trying it on now.
set their 9700k to "unavailable to the UK" now so maybe they are all focusing on their US customers
£450-60 ish is what the I9-990k should be if you go by MSRP plus VAT

Tbh it might only be worth £160 if Zen2 lives up to the speculation lolThe release price is definitely normal from Intel's perspective, but I bet you we won't see price drops like we used to with CPU's like the Q6600, comes out at $850 in Jan '07, down to $530 bu April '07 and then another staggering reduction to $266 by June '07. If the 9900K followed that path it would put it at <$160 by April next year.
Oh, keep dreaming never going to happen these days

I hope zen2 is miles better, absolutely hammers it. I still wouldn't buy one...

I guess if you are not in the market for a CPU then fair enough, but if you are that is a very odd statement to make.
Why not?
All you've learned from Intel tech what. Relearn how to use AMD what what?
You make it sound like a career change.
It's really nothing special.
Tbh the consumers should vote with their wallets and buy AMD. But they wont
Some are, myself included.
