i9 9900k pricing

I’ll probs go zen 2 tbh...intel are now taking the ****

Yea, I intend to upgrade my 2700x next year. I've really picked it up to get a feel for AMD and hopefully stick with it for the next few iterations and see how it evolves.

Someone said earlier that they don't want to have to learn a new architecture, but for me that's part of the attraction. I also feel that if we can't give AMD a chance when performance is this close then we'll reap what we sow.

Yeah..it’s hardly a deal breaker lol :p

I was asked and I answered. I tried to be honest, but like the reason for buying the 9900k in the first place, my answer was always never going to be good enough. Why ask? Then not accept the answer.

It always seems to be the budget conscious hating trolls that have a problem with everything anyone else buys. This is not just directed at you by the way.

All you've learned from Intel tech what. Relearn how to use AMD what what?

You make it sound like a career change.

It's really nothing special.

You missed the bit where I said I can't be bothered. Accept the answer, move on and enjoy your amd rig. Your cult is not going to convert me lol

Can't be bothered, likes to get an oar in anyway, can't read my system specs, is paranoid.

Ok, I'll tell the "cult" you're unsuitable.

Much nicer response, thanks. It was me that mentioned relearning etc. I was attracted to new tech once too and still am in a way but I feel at home with what I know and don't like change much. I'm at a time in my life I just can't be bothered changing. I think it's like being married for 40 years. You're stuck with what you know lol.

Enjoy your system and don't forget to tell us your thoughts on your 2700x upgrade when it comes

You’re kidding right ? You must me kidding !!!

One can clock both platforms with ease... anyone can . It’s such a lame excuse it’s like OMG you gotta be kidding !!! :p

And wind it in with your budget conscious rhetoric... I can buy 9900k for every pc in my house lol ... but I has a brain amigo :D

At this level you have to factor in purchase justification....Myself...I buy a guitar , I spend 3k on it...well the masses might say why ? Why not just a guitar for 1k...it sounds the same right?..in essence they are right...but that’s not the point...I buy the 3 k guitar knowing as soon as I buy it it’s increasing in value...and might I add ,not just a tiny bit, but a lot...

With pc hardware it’s throw away...it’s already dead tech as soon as I click the buy button....I have money...but what exactly does 300 quid get me?

A: Nothing at 4k
B:Nothing over a 8700k other than a few seconds in blender
C:hmmmmm

And within 6 months it’s dead tech....

Talk money, talk performance...that’s fine...but don’t spit your dummy out when people question purchasing motive...If you buy 9900k then buy it...then carry on your merry way...but if you want to spout...then be prepared to be quashed by opposite opinions....

The mere fact that you state you can’t be bothered to learn a new platform is in itself so thin and vacuous it deserves critique in a a enthusiasts forum.

I prefer to talk about tech differences, differences between systems even down to price if you want to, whats better, faster etc etc Quite happy to discuss what to buy too, advice is great, bouncing ideas and alternative builds around is good and healthy in an enthusiast forum. However, what I wouldn't dream of, is trying to question peoples motive for buying when they buy. There is not a justification in the world suitable for questioning people for what they buy, last I heard it was their money. Not being able to accept the reason is something you have to deal with, jumping on someones back for the reason is pretty much rude, arrogant and selfish. If you have an issue with that then its you that has the issue.

3k guitar ? Couldn't care less what you buy, the discussion about the various different guitars, wood, sounds, strings, plectrums or whatever may be associated with it is what is healthy, but once you buy that 3k guitar, normal people respect your decision even if they don't agree with it.

I like your reason for buying your guitar, not because it will increase in value, but because you seem happy with it.

Only you're not talking tech differences between 9900K and the alternatives in regards to why the 9900K offers your specific use case more than those alternatives, such that the significantly higher price is warranted. I may have missed this if you have, but all I've seen you say is that it "excited" you. We're mostly all tech enthusiasts here... and that extends beyond mere surface 'excitement' at something without substance. We're not kittens with balls of wool!

Wonder if i can be compensated for my 9900k OEM from ocuk price has already been reduced and i havent even had it a week yet lol - though im still on the fence yet weather to send it back for a refund though i am now running out of time before i can do so lol

He has been very biased lately its kinda funny he is considered unbiased after all the recent anti intel videos.

Is it that "reviewer likes my favourite brand he must be unbiased" sort of thing?

Tom has been careful to both vendors, clearly not wanting to upset either, he says it how it is tho that intel are making the better chips, that doesnt make him bias, and his data as presented is one of the best in the industry, he actually has several generations of products on his data and has OC for both vendors.

Being negative towards Intel in response to things Intel are doing isn't an example of someone being biased. That isn't how having a bias works. It's not about the quantity of positive and negative content.

Intel has been up to some shady stuff, and people who are unbiased will be producing content highlighting this, which means they're going to have a higher concentration of Intel negative content at a certain point in time.

It's called being objective.
