Hi , yes I know what the kt means !!!! , Really in means that intel had a die fault on the chip which stopped the onboard graphics from working , so instead of binning the whole chip they disabled the graphics.
So for my question , would you think a kf chip is more or less likely to be a overclockable chip , or having one fault may be a clue to other problems ?

Don't see how you can say that. If the iGPU was non functional, they wouldn't have even checked for its overclocking potential.

Its perfectly possible that an otherwise great 9900KS candidate, but with a faulty iGPU, has gone straight into the 9900KF bin.

In theory, the disabled silicon for the iGPU could act as a heat sink for the rest of the CPU, so you could see marginally better thermals with the KF.

Haven't got a scooby, just bought a K from here last week, dropped it in my board clicked on the "turn it up to 11" option on my motherboard and it's sat happily at 5.0ghz and 4.3k memory.. that's plenty fast for me so it's been left at that. no tinkering makes me a happy chap.

Nice to know !!! , Not sure if my motherboard will go up to 11 , just 5 point something !!!!

Do all 9900k reach 5ghz? if it was more cores I would have considered one of those for an upgrade over my 5960x @ 4.7ghz, but gonna wait for next series to come out from both amd and nv.

Probably not any more, given the binning for the KS. Although you'd probably need a properly dud 9900K to not hit 5GHz.
