I'm working with an old piece of kit and I need to copy the software settings and configuration exactly.
It's a 486DX2 with a 6GB hard drive running MS-DOS. Due to both partitioning and BIOS restrictions the stup is a little peculiar.
On startup a program called 'IBM Dynamic Disk Overlay' is run so that it can bypass the BIOS' inability to read all of the disks and the remaining areas of the disk are then further subdevided to a primary partion and a further partition with several logical partitions within it.
I have tried using a ghosting utility to make an exact copy of the file system structure (which worked) but the IBM software will not work - coming up with the error message, "Operating System will not Load".
Any ideas of what I can do or who I can ask?
