IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad restore disks contain same data as hidden partition?

I've partitioned the drive on a thinkpad to install Windows 7 before going whole hog and wiping the entire drive for it.

Before I do the full wipe...does anyone know if the restore discs (1 dvd or 6 cds), that you burn when you first get the laptop, require the hidden partition, or do they put the hidden partition back when used to restore the system?

The reason I ask is I am not sure if the restore discs use data in the hidden partition to supplement them or if the restore discs contain everything needed.

I believe it will actually restore the computer to the stock "factory" condition, hidden partition and all - but there's a notebook review forum (big clue there) with an IBM/Lenovo section that should be able to better assist on that.

Make sure you back up the swtools (I believe that's what it's called) folder too as it contains all the drivers.
