Hi all,
Firstly I really hope I'm posting in the correct place and hope I'm not asking a question that's already been asked.
I've had my IBM/ Lenovo X60 for 5 years and it's never let me down (catastrophically at least) until a few days ago where theachines just locked up without error or BSOD. Didn't think much of it until I rebooted that it wouldn't load the OS past the Windows logo. This occurs each time I start up either normally or through startup recovery.
I've checked the HDD is fine as I can read the disk via a caddy to another PC and tried running a repair from CD. Now I did a bit of tinkering and managed to get Ubuntu installed on to USB. Using the USB key, again the laptop failed to load the OS stopping halfway through the process. The strange thing is the USB loads Ubuntu fine from another machine.
Any ideas how or what to try and fix my X60?
Regards
