I have an old iBook G4. It's from early 2004 I think, a 1GHz CPU with 256Mb of RAM. I've just done a clean install of 10.3.9 and tbh I'm impressed with how well it runs.

I'd really like to put Leopard on there though, 10.3 is rather limiting, but it needs more memory. There is an empty slot where a 1GB PC2100 or PC2700 DDR SODIMM can be added bringing it up to 1.25GB. It also doesn't have the Airport Extreme card.

Am I better trying to find an old Airport Extreme card for it, or can I use any old WiFi USB dongle? Any recommendation for a USB dongle that will work with Leopard?

Dont quote me but i think the maximum speed from an airport card on the ibook was 11mbs. But im sure thats more than enough for surfing the web. You can pick them up from an auction site for £18 ish. I suppose it depends on what you wish to do with it.

Deffo upgrade it to 1gb and install at least 10.4, should run well.
