Ibooks - rubbish since last update?

I use ibooks to view various pdfs, books, magazines etc on my iPad. Up until now I've had no need to look elsewhere as its done everything I've needed it to, bung the files into iTunes, update the iPad and away we go.

However since the last update its been REALLY poor. PDFs take forever to load up, if at at all, and the whole thing has become very frustrating. Has anyone else noticed this? and if so any solutions? Alternatively does anyone have any alternative recommendations of Apps that i could try instead? Im even open to using my dropbox account and putting all the print media there but obviously that would tie me into requiring a wi-fi connection.

iPad 3, everything else is perfect.

iBooks is fast on my iPad3 but the bookstore like the new appstore is absolutely slow as hell.

No problems on my 2 iPads and I use iBooks extensively.

Seeing lots of negative press around Apple's own apps at the moment, the Podcast app being another that I noticed recently too.
