ive just figured out where im going wrong with ram timings (or more, the board's bios sets different values to the ones i pick), and im now actually running my ram at its proper 1333mhz 7-7-7-20 settings. Now im trying to see how far i can push it while keeping these timings.

i see most people use intel burn test for "quick" stability tests as they increase the CPU overclock, followed with some prime 95 when theyve got to the speeds they're after.

So, can i use IBT in the same manner for RAM? i would rather not use memtest until the end as i would still like to actually use the computer whilst all this is going on

edit: i can only use upto the standard setting as im still on 32bit

i guess so, but prime takes a while. the idea of IBT was that its quick.

however, ive found a copy of memtest that runs within windows. two running copies has used all the ram up for testing, but is it any good?

well i double checked and used the bootable memtest once id had enough. it passed @ with 7-8-7-20 timings. set Prime off a few mins ago and ill see if it lasts.

Ill see if i can get the 8 down to a 7 when i can be bothered. Still not too sure about the best testing proceure, but the way i did it seemed to work.

Thanks anyways guys :)
